Description:
Spherical roller bearings comprise an inner and outer ring encasing two rows of symmetrical barrel-like rollers. They feature two inner ring raceways with an angular incline to the bearing axis. These bearings are self-aligning, and provide high load carrying capacity, long operating life, low friction coefficients, and high durability.
Self-aligning bearings are designed to automatically correct misalignment caused by shaft and housing machining, or an installation error. They are commonly used to handle angular misalignment, making them suitable for applications such as gearboxes, pumps, mining and construction equipment, off-road vehicles, agricultural machinery, wind turbines, material handling, and oil and gas machinery. Applications are similar to those of self-aligning double row ball bearings, however they are generally more robust, and have higher load capacity at the expense of speed. They are also highly resistant to shock loads, heavy radial loads, and axial loads in either direction. As with all bearings, they can be made in a variety of materials, such as sheet steel, polyamide, brass, or machined steel, to impact bearing performance. Steel and brass typically provides more durability and load capacity, while plastic composites can provide higher speed capabilities, but may not be suitable for high temperature applications. They can be produced with straight or tapered bores for specific applications. Other features include type of
lubrication, central flange, guide ring or center ring, integrated seals, and cage or cage material. MRO Supply offers a wide selection of spherical roller bearings; find the bearing that suits your application.
