Cable clamps are accessories for cables and wires. They are mainly used to clamp, label guide, clipping and protecting cables and wires. The clamps
are very vital in installing and maintaining cables systems. Cable clamps mostly used in automotive, constructions, industrial applications, rigging and manufacturing applications. Cable clamps come in four different types. In the article, we will discuss two of them
1. U-type; the clamp can also be referred to us right-angled braces. This type of clamp is used during the installation of conduit
at perpendicularly to the beam. This kind of clamps is however not advised for wire bundles whose diameter is over 1” since its weight may be more than that of clamp structural capabilities.
2. Edge; Edge clamp is suitable for perpendicular installations. It is worth noting that the weight of the clamp which can hold 100 units of distance. The work of the edge clamp is to clamp down the conduit tightly when attaching conduits to edge of steel by use of jaws.
3. Parallel; these parallel clamps got has two jaws. The thinner jaw attaches steel beam while the other one put holds the conduit together or instead in place. They are best recommended for use if the conduit is running parallel.
4. J-hook; the j-hook cable clamp has a J shape that hooks along the conduit. The conduit gets mounted inside the steel beam which gets attached using a threaded top of the cable clamp. After that, it is the attached with bolt and nut. The clamp can be used for both perpendicular and parallel applications because the conduit is set in a way that it is perpendicular to the beam.
