When designing brakes and power transmission systems, one of the concerns of engineers is reverse rotations. In many cases, shafts
designed to run in a specific direction (clockwise or anticlockwise) can result in serious damages to a system if operating in reverse. The backstop clutch was designed to address this problem.
The backstop clutch works with a standard clutch unit that facilitates rotation movement in the selected direction. Then, it features an additional momentum lever that helps to halt motion when it passes the ground position/ ground location. The backstop clutch design ensures that your system will never work in reverse. Therefore, you can rest assured that your facility will not start rolling back the materials that were about to be added to the processor.
