Description:
The Round die is round and features three (or more) cutting edges. The die will either have a slot or feature the closed style. The latter, also called Style B, is the most common. You can use these tools in die holders or clamp them into the quill of a turning lathe. The round die is used as a thread cutting tool. To manually thread a circular metal bar, clamp it tightly in a horizontal or vertical position. Insert the die in a holder, place it at the edge of the bar and begin to rotate clockwise.Round dies have chamfers on both sides. On the one hand, you will find two or three thread chamfers while on the next is a one or one and a half thread chamfer. By using a tightening screw, you can adjust the size of the slot while holes in the plane act as discharge points for removing metal chips.Get the best selection of round dies and other supplies at MRO Supply.
