DODGE SAFS cast steel pillow blocks mount 22200K series spherical roller bearings on 2-7/16" - 8" shafts.
These pillow blocks are well suited for applications requiring either grease or oil lubrication where adapter mounting is preferred and limited thrust loads are experienced. Cast steel housings provide greater resistance to impact and shock loading than the more economical cast iron pillow blocks.
SAFS pillow blocks are furnished complete with the TRIPLE-TECT combination labyrinth and face rubbing seals. LER triple ring seals are available as an alternate seal for SAFS pillow blocks. Where required, purgeable auxiliary seals and end closures are also available.

Replacement pillow block bearing
I ordered 2 Dodge Pillow block bearings to replace replace a failed bearing on my chipper and to replace a second bearing as a precaution. I received the both bearings promptly, but discovered that the failed bearing also damaged it's housing. Since the housing without a bearing doesn't seem to be readily available, I requested to return the one bearing and replace it with the complete pillow (housing with bearing). Since I was getting an entirely different part, MROSupply customer support suggested that I get a full refund for the bearing and place a new order for the pillow block (housing with bearing). I have received the pillow block and am waiting for the refund which I expect to receive very soon.

Face Runout/OD is the variation of the outside surface generatrix inclination with the face. This tolerance is meant to help ensure the outer ring of the bearing is close enough to a right angle with the face of the outer ring. The figures for the face runout/OD are provided for P4 and P5 grades. Note that all points on a single circle of the outside ring bore adjacent to the face are calculated based on one revolution. However, the inner ring must remain stationary. Then, the bearing is turned over and the outer side of the ring measured. Finally, the largest measurement is taken away from the smallest to get runout/OD bore tolerance.
