AX Cogged V-Belts

Apart from the Classic V-belts that heavily relies on its "V" shape to wedge into pulleys when high tension is applied, Cogged V-belts feature evenly spaced teeth that allow the belt to easily wrap around pulleys. The cogged design requires less tension than the classic, effectively transmitting power with greater grip strength without risking failures in belt elasticity. Additionally the reduced surface contact of a Cogged V-belt generates less heat and less wear on the pulley components itself. Cogged V-belts are also made highly resistant to oils, and canbe found being used in many practical or industrial applications.

Cogged V-belts are more expensive than the Classic V-belt, but are better at protecting more expensive components. Its gripping capability makes Cogged V-belts more suited to pulleys smaller in diameter and potentially last longer the classic V-belts. It is also important to note that another toothed belt known as synchronous belts are purposed primarily with sprocket pulleys, interlocking both the sprocket and belt surfaces for maximum grip and reduced slippage. However, synchronous belts can run loud and create vibrations, despite having having the most effective driving ability. Like its classical cousins, AX V-belts share a profile of 1/2 inch width and 5/16 inch thickness, created up to lengths ranging from 20 inches to 180 inches.Other styles:
