Longest ever produced Turbine by Suzlon

October 30, 2015

Suzlon, the world’s fifth largest wind turbine maker will participate in building a 100.8MW wind project in Andhra Pradesh, India for an independent power producer Orange Renewable.

The S111 2.1 MW turbine is one of the longest ever produced by Suzlon that uses a 54.8 meter blade. This a next generation turbine of S88 and S95/97 family and it is designed to deliver a 20% increase in annual energy production over the S97. Earlier, the S111 was manufactured in Texas, USA, which can produce electricity at 60HZ. Indian version will use a 50HZ frequency.

The SB54 turbine blade is the cleanest and longest modernized profile, Suzlon has ever produced. The current design provides optimal energy solutions to Suzlon’s clients, and derive maximum energy yield. The innovative design of the blades produces more power with optimized improvements.

The blade is 80% longer than one wing of a Boeing 777.  Due to an effective integration between the product design, production unit and the tool design, production timeline will be shorter with a high yield product.
