History

The Lenze company first started in 1947 when Hans Lenze took over Stahlkontor GmbH Weser, a trading company. By the following year, the company started creating a multi-layered product program in the field of mechanical drive technology. During the 50's and 60's, the company started developing their own products and experienced upsurges in growth such as a new geared motor manufacturing plant in Bösingfeld and another plant in nearby Hameln as well as the development and production of an electronical DC speed controller. By the 80's, the Lenze company has expanded their manufacturing resources to include plants in Japan and South East Asia, and has developed hybrid circuits (microprocessors) to be used in frequency inverters. In 1999, the Lenze group acquired the drive technology company, AC Technology Corporation, which was located in Uxbridge, USA.
