Eaton is a global technology leader in power management solutions that make electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power operate more efficiently, reliably, safely and sustainably. Eaton’s Bussmann series continues to reflect a long-standing tradition of providing fusible circuit protection and electrical safety solutions that protect equipment and enable reliable, efficient power distribution. Class J fuses are non-renewable, current limiting fuses that conform to 248-8. These fuses have current ratings that range from 0A to 600A, a voltage rating of 600VAC, and a minimum interrupt rating of 200,000 amps. Class J fuses are also available with DC ratings. These fuses come in two versions - time delay and fast acting. The time delay versions allow a minimum of a 10-second delay at 500% of the fuse's current rating. Fast acting fuses, on the other hand, open very quickly on overload and short circuits. This particular type of fuse is not intended to be used when temporary overload currents occur. Class J fuses are perfect for space-limited applications because they are around half the size of the Class R fuses. In addition, these fuses have higher current limiting compared to the RK5 and RK1 fuses. Class J fuses are UL Listed, under UL 248-8, Class J, and CSA Certified.
