By 1896, Fischer had a new plant built that produced 10 million balls per week. A year later, the company was incorporated. The company was made public in 1897. In 1905, the FAG brand became a registered trademark. Georg Schäfer takes over the company in 1909 along with several investors, several years after Fischer's death. In 1912, a FAG engineer named Johann Modler developed the barrel roller bearing. By the 1920s, the company was able to produce ceramic grinding plates and tapered roller bearings. In 1933, FAG acquires G. u. J. Jaeger in Wuppertal which had developed the first cylindrical roller bearing. In 2001, the FAG brand was acquired by INA-Holding Schaeffler KG and became a part of the Schaeffler Group.
