History
In 1911, three area businessmen founded Manheim Manufacturing and Belting Company to manufacture conveyor belts for agricultural applications. Years later, the company expanded its product range to include flat power transmission belts serving the general industry. During the 1970s, the company included extruded thermoplastic urethane belting in its product line. Within the same decade, an engineer was contracted to design the patented Trantorque Keyless Bushing. A subsidiary of Fenner PLC, Fenner Inc., acquired the company in 1984. From then on, the company traded as Fenner Manheim. In 1995, the company changed its name to Fenner Drives and acquired Efson Inc. which manufactured a line of thermoplastic pulleys and tensioners. In 2002, the company's Industrial Division acquired Eagle Belting Company. Four years later, the company's Industrial and Precision divisions became two separate companies - Fenner Precision and Fenner Drives.
