A three leg wound center is used by all our DITs. This first-class layout has silent operation and really low losses. These two characteristics combine to reduce procedure costs and losses in comparison with other kinds of structures. All Acme DITs including the 220kVA and up to have copper conclusions. The transition from aluminum strip coil conductors to copper conclusions is carried through by a bonding procedure called "Koldwelding" This procedure was used by Acme for over 25 years to supply a trouble free, long-term bonding of both metals.

Strain alleviation: Acme uses strip conductors (above 7.5 kVA) instead of cable for a DIT string that readily adapts the acute electric and mechanical stresses seen in now’s AC & DC motor drives. The built-in outstanding line isolation of these transformers is further improved with the additional protection of Acme’s Electrostatic Shield — .
Lower reductions: The harmonic currents produced by AC & DC drives raise eddy current losses (heat) in transformer windings. The thicker the greater the reductions, the winding conductor. Acme uses one turn per layer of thin strip conductor which supplies lower eddy current losses than cable wound units that are similar. Reductions that are lower = longer transformer life and cooler operation.
For additional protection all layouts 7.5 kVA and above use primary and secondary coils of identical axial length. This characteristic will negate short circuit forces that are axial, further enhancing transformer life expectancy.
