Load cells are transducers
designed to measure force and convert it into electrical signals. Most of them utilize strain gauges for detecting measurements. But today, you can also get pneumatic and hydraulic models. The strain gauge load cell utilizes electrical circuit referred to as Wheatstone bridge configuration. This bridge configuration features two legs of circuit. When the force being measured is applied, it deforms the strain gauge in the load cell. The level of deformation is measured and given in an electrical signal. Some of the common configurations include the s-type, shear beam, compression, miniature, pancake, and single point.To increase efficiency, the load cells are designed with materials that are resistant to scratches and rusting. This helps to deform at the same rates when equal forces are applied. However, they are not considered ideal for very high loads. Some of the common applications that use load cells
