Description:
Idler bushings are the perfect solution for any multi-pulley drives needing sprockets or fixed centre distance drives. Idler bushings allow for synchronous belt sprockets and standard
V-belt pulleys to be converted into a free spinning idler. An idler bushing will often contain sealed ball bearings and an integral shaft for mounting to available idler brackets. The advantages of idler bushings include;
• Great solution for customizing belt drives
• Able turn standard V-belt pulleys into a free spinning tensioner
The main types of Idler bushings are
Taper Lock Bushings and QD Style Bushings. Taper Lock bushings are also known as Taper Fit bush or Taper bush and feature a locking mechanism used for locating
sprockets, pulleys, and couplings to shafts. The Taper lock bushing is keyed to match the keyway diameters and needed shaft and is pre-bored.
QD bushings have the original sheave and mounting system made to fit the installation and replacement of components. The Quick Detachable (QD) design offers for both reverse (flange inboard) and conventional (flange outboard) mounting configurations.
