Experience optimal machine safety guard security and operator protection with the 440G-T27123 TLS-1-GD2 Solenoid Safety Switch by Allen Bradley Guardmaster. This switch has 2 entry slots on the head, which can also be easily rotated to allow 4 actuator entry points. A blanking plug is provided to seal the unused slot.
This unit is a positive mode, tongue-operated interlock switch that ensures guards are safely locked while the power supply to the machine is on. The barrier can only open when the internal solenoid is energised by an external signal. In addition, the power supply is isolated when the guard is released. This helps to prevent the risk of personnel entering a hazardous area where serious injury may occur. This versatile guard-locking safety switch is ideal for use with machines which do not stop instantly, or which may be damaged by interference while in motion.
The 440G-T27123 switch has Power-to-Release functionality, M20 conduit entry, 2NC safety contacts and 1 NO auxiliary contact. The solenoid contacts are 1NC/1NO and the voltage is 230 V ac/dc. It has a high holding force of 2000N (450lbs), ensuring greater stability and security of the safety guard. This versatile unit is ideally suited for use in wet environments where machinery is regularly washed down as it is sealed to IP67. The housing material is made of UL approved glass-filled PBT, which ensures improved durability. The TLS-1-GD2 has an operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). The rated insulation voltage is 500V and it has a thermal current of 10A. It is suitable for use with PLCs.

What are Solenoid Interlock Switches?

A solenoid interlock switch is a type of safety switch with an internal solenoid; a wire coil which converts electrical energy to mechanical. This type of mechanism limits access to dangerous areas where machinery may be functioning by ensuring that that barriers remain securely shut. The safety guard can only be opened through either energising (Power to Release) or de-energising (Power to Lock) the solenoid with an external signal. They are often used in industrial environments, for example with high inertia rotating machines.
