Product Details
Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440E-D13112 Lifeline 3 Cable Pull Switch

The 440E Lifeline 3 Cable Pull Switch, 30m, by Allen Bradley Guardmaster enhances safety in the workplace by providing a constant emergency stop access function for personnel in the event of a hazard. It is specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of EN 418 (Safety of Machinery—Emergency Stop Equipment).
This grab wire switch features a rope status indicator for easy set up and system maintenance. It also has a positive mode mechanism, ensuring that the contacts are instantly latched open upon actuation. They can be reset only through intentional action by turning the blue reset knob. Its design defends against nuisance tripping and the effects of thermal expansion. This switch is ideally suited for use with awkward machinery, such as conveyor belts.
The Rope Pull switches have a steel wire which is connected to latching pull switches, so that when the wire is pulled in any direction along the length the switch is tripped to stop the machine, minimising risk of injury and risk of damage to machinery.
The 440E-D13112 Lifeline 3 unit can switch up to a maximum wire length of 30m. It has 3 NC (Normally Closed), 1NO (Normally Open) contact configuration and M20 Conduit entry. The housing is yellow with a blue reset button for enhanced visibility of the device. It has an operating temperature range of between -25°C and 80°C. The enclosure material is comprised of heavy-duty die-cast aluminium alloy (LM24) for superior durability, ensuring that it can withstand harsh conditions. The tension force is 188N lock-out, 103N running, and the operating force is less than 125N (300 mm Deflection). Safety contact gap is less than 2mm x 2mm.
Features and Benefits:

This safety device can be used with GuardLink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster. GuardLink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the safety system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please go to the GuardLink brochure.
What is a cable pull switch?

A cable pull switch, also known as grab wire switches or rope pull switches, are a common type of emergency stop device and safeguarding measure. They allow personnel to stop moving machinery anywhere along its length instead of at just one point on the machine and can be used over a long distance. This is useful if there is a chance that someone may become entangled in lengthy moving machinery, such as conveyor belts. These devices are hung by a wire around the machinery and can be operated by pulling the cord. This isolates the circuit and stops the hazard.
