Acme Electric

Acme Electric manufactures a complete line of low voltage (600V and below) dry-type distribution transformers that is used in various industrial, commercial, and OEM applications including general commercial power distribution, high harmonic conditions, specific industrial motor drive/factory automation systems, and low-voltage landscape lighting. This ISO 9000 certified manufacturer offers approximately 1,500 standard products as well as special products that have been customized according to specific customer requirements.

 

History

Acme Electric has been in the business of manufacturing Power Conditioning Equipment for more than eighty-eight years. In 1997, the company became Demand Flow Technology™ (DFT) certified, enabling the company to reduce the production time of a transformer down to 8-10 days. The company started its manufacturing expansion by opening a plant in Monterrey, Mexico in 1999. In 2003, it further expanded its manufacturing reach and resources with a strategic partnership in China. The following year, Acme Electric acquired Amveco Magnetics, Inc., a world leader in toroidal power transformers.

 

Headquarters and Locations

Acme Electric's corporate headquarters is located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The company's primary manufacturing base is located in Lumberton, North Carolina, a high-tech facility that produces encapsulated and air-cooled transformers. 30,000 square feet of this 130,000 square ft. facility is used as a warehouse area and the company's central distribution center.  Acme Electric also has a 45,000 square ft. manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico which is focused on manufacturing smaller industrial control transformers.

 

 

Product Overview

Acme Electric provides electrical control transformers that are used in any facility or plant that makes use of automation technology such as a canning plant, car manufacturing plant, and an electrical plant. Its products include general purpose transformers (energy efficient single-phase transformers, non-linear load transformers, c3 transformers), industrial control transformers, appliance transformers, drive isolation transformers, line reactors, low voltage/lighting transformers, buck boost transformers, power supplies, Panel-Tran Zone Power Centers, and power conditioning. Aside from its full line of product offerings, Acme Electric also provides designs and prototypes of custom products. These customized designs include special kVA, special mounting configurations and/or enclosures, etc.
