Sealmaster
Sealmaster is an Emerson Industrial Automation brand under the Power Transmission Solutions division that offers a variety of mounted bearings such as ball bearings, roller bearings, and corrosion resistant bearings. The brand also offers spherical bearings, rod ends, paver bearings, and bearing accessories such as bearing back side shields, bearing grease, and bearing end caps. Sealmaster industries include coal power generation, food, forestry, and grain.
History
Sealmaster was established in 1938 as a division of the Stephens-Adamson Company, a company that manufactured light duty, plain bearing conveyor and power transmission equipment. It's first product was the Sealmaster ball bearing. At the time, the bearing inserts were produced by a third party then assembled into housings at the company's plant in Aurora. In 1946, Stephens-Adamson constructed a new facility that was focused exclusively on manufacturing Sealmaster® ball bearings. In 1996, the brand grew so much that a new plant and office facility was built on a 40-acre site in Aurora, Illinois. Three years later, the company was purchased by Borg-Warner Corporation, merging it with the Morse Chain Division. In 1983, Emerson Electric Company purchased Morse Industrial which added Sealmaster to its mounted bearing product lines. Three years later, Emerson consolidated its power transmission companies into one organization: Emerson Power Transmission Corporation.
