A Speed Switch is a rail-mounted electronic device that uses a set input frequency to control single relays (SPDT). The speed switch can be set to any Trip frequency setting from 0.1 Hz to 25 kHz. Its input signals and relay status are communicated through a set of LED indicators. Depending on the application, the speed switch can be set to trip in three cases, Overspeed, under-speed or zero speed. Also, output chatter can be eliminated by incorporating offset and hysteresis values in the speed switch trip settings.
can be used to monitor motor shafts
in speed-critical operations such as on conveyor belts and other shaft operated machines. They protect the machinery
from damage by tripping an alarm or shutting down when the machine gets into dangerous speed conditions, this could be above or below the set frequency. Contact our experts at MRO Supply if you have any questions about the speed switches we have available. We have speed switches for both AC and DC power applications.
