Description:
Precision ABEC-7 bearings are
bearings with a 7 rating on the ABEC scale. The Annular Bearing Engineering Committee created a bearing scale to rate bearings on their precision performance. There are five classes of this scale, going from wide tolerances to tight tolerances: 1,3,5,7, and 9. As it is a precision scale, higher ratings do not mean bearings with higher load capacities. Bearings with a higher rating provide higher precision, efficiency, and speed capabilities, under the same loads as a bearing with a lower rating. Many other critical bearing factors are not addressed by the ABEC scale, such as smoothness of rolling contact surfaces, material quality, or ball precision. Precision bearings are designed for extremely improved accuracy for high precision applications such as aerospace, health, robotics, machine tool and other industries. These bearings feature optimal materials and internal design, to provide the highest quality performance, including accuracy, rotational speed, and rigidity. Other benefits include noise and vibration reduction, high rotational speed, minimized heat generation and friction, and long operating life. ABEC-7 rated bearings are categorized as ultra-precision bearings, and are suitable for applications with high-speed loads and extreme accuracy requirements; they can be used in high quality skateboard wheels. They are significantly more expensive than lower rated bearings, and are only recommended for applications where ultra-precision bearings are necessary. At MRO Supply we carry a large selection of precision ABEC-7 bearings. Ask our experts which bearing rating is required for your application.
