1.5 HP 145TC Frame Washdown Electric Motors

Washdown motors are electric motors specifically designed for food safety applications so can drive mechanical energy to other mechanisms without environmental complications. These motors rely on the properties of opposing magnetic fields and electric currents to propel the electromagnetic coil, generating mechanical energy called torque. Converted electric energy can be transmitted from stored via generator, or battery component (AC or Alternating Current) or directly transmitted to the motors themselve (DC or Direct Current) — each type have their own unique advantages and disadvantages. AC motors can produce more torque when higher currents are transmitted through the coil, but DC motors are more energy efficient overall.

Washdown motors are able to withstand high pressure and high temperature washing, are completely sealed, and have additional measures to prevent moisture from building up within the motor. "C" designation indicates that the electric motor is face mounting, equipped with threaded mounting holes, and "T" designation indicates that the motor frame is made with standard dimensions that had been established since 1964. NEMA standard frame numbers are designated by the distance from center of shaft to center bottom of mount. Motors with three digit designations measure the shaft height (D) from the first two digits of the frame number divided by four — Measured from the its base to the shaft, 145TC motors will have a shaft height of 3.5".
