How should I store a Dodge gearbox over the off-season?

Dodge's guidance for seasonal or long-term storage: fill the unit completely full of oil, plug the breather, and coat the seal surfaces with cosmoline or grease. Restore the correct operating oil level and breather before returning the unit to service.

How does Dodge warranty evaluation work if a product fails?
